Registered Psychologist
Dwayne is a fully registered Psychologist with the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board (NLPB). He provides clinical supervision for provisionally registered Psychologists at both the Masters’ and Ph.D. level as required by the NLPB. In his early career, Dwayne worked exclusively in a child and youth mental health clinic providing diagnostic and therapeutic treatment to individuals up to 18 years of age. For the past 12 years he has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in health care with individuals as young as 5 years of age to individuals 80+ years of age. Dwayne is trained in Psychological First Aid; providing psychological support to individuals in the aftermath of a community crisis/traumatic event. He has clinical level training in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children and adults. Over his career, Dwayne has presented at workshops on topics such as: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); Alcohol Related Birth Defects; Resilience in Children and Youth; Autism Spectrum Disorder; Psychological First Aid; Dual Diagnosis (Intellectual Disability and Mental Health diagnosis); and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.
Registered Psychologist
Chris Hodder grew up in Bishop’s Falls, NL. He is married with 2 adult children currently attending university. Chris is an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced psychologist with knowledge of the education system, child behavior, cognitive-behavioral therapy, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and mental illness. Chris has worked as an Educational Psychologist for the past 20 years for the Newfoundland English School District where he provides individual counseling to students, consults with school staff and parents regarding education programming and behaviour, as well as completing psycho-education assessment and ADHD screening. In his spare time Chris enjoys sports, hiking and fishing.
Registered Psychologist
Lesley is a registered psychologist with a Master of Education in counselling psychology. Lesley has 14 years of experience working in the health care industry. She worked for 10 years providing behavioural consultation to families, and support staff, of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and 4 years working as a psychologist in community mental health.
Lesley works with all ages using a client centered approach to counselling with emphasis on the importance of building relationships to encourage change and growth. Her theoretical orientation is eclectic, with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and solution focused. Lesley has experience with many concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, grief, personality disorders, autism, and ADHD.
Lesley also conducts psychological assessments for learning disabilities, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, and other mental health assessments.

Registered Psychologist
Darryl is a registered psychologist in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2000. He has many years experience as a psychologist in the NL K-12 education system, and has worked in varied roles as an adult educator, school administrator, senior manager, school counsellor, special education program specialist, and in behaviour management positions supporting students and educators. He regularly advocates for increased availability of psychology services and has served on provincial advocacy organizations representing public sector and private practice psychologists as they promote psychology services. He has offered professional learning sessions to educators, students, and community groups. Darryl has special interests and experience with psychoeducational assessment, intellectual developmental disorders, specific learning disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, FASD, and crisis/tragic event response.
Owner
Ida relocated to Newfoundland from South Africa with her family. She worked in her private practice there for 20 years and then as a Senior Lecturer at a University where she trained post graduate students (Honours and Masters) in Psychology. In her private practice she focused on neuropsychological assessments in medico-legal and medical contexts . She also represented her province as an executive associate member of the South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association. She taught Neuropsychology at Masters Level at University, and her research focus was on cognitive assessment in a multi-cultural setting. She supervised research at Masters and PhD levels, with the main focus on psychological assessment. Most recently Ida has been working with Central Health at James Paton Memorial Hospital since coming to Newfoundland in 2017. She started the Psychology and Counselling Centre in 2019. She offers a wide service for various client groups. She works from an attachment basis, and does extensive trauma work. She also does psychological and neuropsychological assessments.
Owner
Jancke moved to Newfoundland from South Africa where he ran a private practice as a Clinical Psychologist for a period of 21 years with his spouse Dr. Ida Pienaar. Prior to this he was employed in the South African National Defense Force. Jancke has extensive experience in providing services in various clinical settings, including psychiatric settings, therapeutic contexts, running academic workshops as part of postgraduate course work in a Tertiary institution, industrial assessments as well as career assessments and development.
As a clinician, he has experience in working with most of the DSM 5 disorders, more specifically, mood disorders and anxiety, trauma and adjustment disorders. He is familiar to many personality and cognitive ability assessments. Jancke is an accredited user of the Cognitive Process Profile (CPP) assessment which is valuable within organizational setting.
